Russia-Ukraine, an information war: reporting and checking

Photojournalists are always there reporting on conflicts, showing what is really happening. But with social media taking off, conveying propaganda, fake news and manipulated images, the Web has now become a theater of war, as can be seen with the Russia-Ukraine war.

AFP journalists are there in both the real world and in virtual communications. This complementary approach is essential for accurate, reliable and complete reporting of the war which has been waged in Europe since February 24.
The conference will be moderated by AFP’s Global News Director, Phil Chetwynd, and the Editor-in-Chief for Digital Investigation, Grégoire Lemarchand.
