Syria, a Decade at War

First there were citizen journalists reporting in war zones that were increasingly difficult to access, and now there is a generation of young Syrian photographers with AFP who have been a source of inspiration for others in the region. Working at a distance, they have been given training and support through the strong ties formed with the teams based in Beirut and Nicosia. Panelists will include the Syrian photographer Sameer al-Doumy, currently based in Caen (France) for AFP, Hasan Mroué, AFP’s Deputy Photo Editor for North Africa and the Middle East, and Stéphane Arnaud, Global Editor-in-Chief, AFP Photo.
