Samantha and Hasina are two girls handicapped in two different worlds. They are two nine year old girls, both physically disabled. Although they share a similar history, they face their disability in different ways.

Samantha is from Canada and has the most modern technology at her service helping her cope with her physical problems. She has three wheelchairs; one is computer-controlled with a battery-powered electrical engine: by pushing her head against a joystick she is learning to drive it herself.

Hasina lives in Bangladesh and her family is so poor they cannot even provide her with a simple seat of wheels. She depends on her sister Nasima when she wants to move, for example to go to school.
