I have been working on migration for the past eight years. These pictures cover the last moments of Moria camp on the island of Lesbos.

Tens of thousands of people fleeing war and poverty-stricken homelands have been stranded in Greece since the peak of Europe’s refugee crisis in 2016. According to a UNHCR report released in March 2016, since the beginning of 2015 more than one million people, mostly refugees from Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, have crossed into Greece. When Balkan and European countries to the north closed their borders, more than 90,000 were trapped in Greece, in camps and on the streets.
