The definition of “photographer” can be found in the dictionary under “c”–for curious. Curious: Desirous of seeing or knowing; eager to learn; inquisitive. A better description of who we photographers are and what we do would be hard to find !

When I'm on the prowl for pictures my curiosity gene works overtime. "What's around that corner? Why are those people lingering in front of that door? Who is behind the screen?" Our job is not only to ask those questions, but to show the answers through our cameras. Every photographer has a different reason for making pictures. A single denominator, and the thread that ties us all together, is curiosity.
