A violent earthquake struck the south Asian subcontinent on October 8th 2005, killing some 75,000 and leaving hundreds of thousands more without shelter in the harsh mountain terrain. From the first day, Reuters photographers organized coverage, working in rotation as they do in Iraq, to ensure uninterrupted presence for over six months. “Covering the Quake” features images from 16 photographers of 13 nationalities, each documenting a reality where time does not necessarily bring relief, and where the simple fact that they were there means that the plight of these people will not be forgotten
