Villa Numéris round table

Palais des Congrès, auditorium Charles Trenet.

Palais des Congrès, Charles Trenet auditorium. Free admission. Thursday, September 5, 4.30pm. Building greater trust in information: the future of photojournalism This round table, facilitated by La villa numeris, will explore the major changes to the photojournalism industry brought by artificial intelligence and image generation, new ways of staying informed (particularly on social media), and the need to maintain public trust in visual content and photographic work. It will be an opportunity to address the following questions: what emerging technology (digital watermarks, enhanced metadata, similarity measurement) can certify the source and authenticity of photographs? What can be done to raise public awareness about visual manipulation and to establish a new narrative for images? What role should press platforms and agencies play in guaranteeing the traceability of content? How can we find the right balance between speed of dissemination and the need for fact-checking in a context of non-stop information? And lastly, what do we want the future of information to be? Panelists: Faten Dubarry, Director, Google News Partnerships Lead, France Middle East and Africa and Eric Baradat, AFP Deputy News Director in charge of Photography. Moderator: David Lacombled, founder and President of La villa numeris.
