Stigmatized, forgotten and often locked away, Asia’s mentally ill are left to wallow in a living hell. John Stanmeyer spent much of 2003 documenting the alarming mental health crisis in Asia. From China to Cambodia, Afghanistan, Indonesia and Pakistan, this important piece of social commentary illustrates the dire need for greater funding from governments and international NGOs to pay attention and act towards the needs of its people who are locked up, over drugged, malnourished and neglected.
