According to a poll conducted before the November 2024 U.S. presidential election, 80% of respondents considered that the country was divided on fundamental values. It is unlikely that Donald Trump’s return to the White House will have tempered this feeling. Everyone agrees: America is polarized, fractured and torn. There are conflicting currents, whether on fundamental social issues such as abortion rights, or on more hackneyed issues such as diversity programs in businesses and universities.
