Finally we start

Well its done! After all the last minute details and problems of putting on such a big festival the engine is running and we are on our way. There are always small last minute fixes to make as we say in France this is normal. The opening ceremony came and went with many speeches, some of them very long but the festival is now open and everybody was waiting patiently for the off.

Back stage the team were very busy carrying out small fixes but they do this in silence, they have after all done this for twenty years now.

The first evening was nice, old friends and new gathered at the hotel Pams for the " Welcome' drink and even a rare bit of rain did not dampen the spirit that is so much part of the rhythm of Visa.

We started our first screening with the reportage Nepal, by Brian Sokol, very powerful images.

After the show I left the Campo Santo and this guy came up to me and shakes my hand, I could not read his badge to read his name but he said, "I am Brian Sokol and I want to say thank you featuring my images".

This is also Visa ... we have a long week ahead of us..enjoy.
